Embutido Recipe

           Embutido is originally a Spanish dish. While in the Philippines, embutido is one of the traditional celebratory dish. On weddings, fiestas, birthdays and any other occasions. Even though some processing companies are now producing commercial embutidos, the traditionaly prepared one will always taste better. The tenderness of the lean meat spice by different ingredients. You may also fill it with your own choice of ingredients such as raisins, green peas, bread crumbs, as well as flour and condensed milk. However, on general, umbutido is made of ground pork, grated carrots, hotdogs, and eggs. In this recipe, you can see a bunch of list of ingredients.

         Despite the fact that this dish is a bit expensive and will need longer time to prepare, this well-known dish will surely satisfy your taste and stomach at the end. After being cooked in steamer, embutido can still store that last long for a month. But you have to make sure it is frozenly stored in your refrigerator. Always remember that before you put it in a microwave, remove from its wrap of aluminum foil because it reacts. Regarding its sauce, there are variety of choices depending on your taste.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kilo ground pork
  • 2 cups diced ham
  • 1/2 cup grated carrots
  • 1 cup pickle relish
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper (minced)
  • 6 whole eggs
  • 1/2 cup red bell pepper (minced)
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • Pinch of salt & pepper

Cooking Instructions:

  1.  In a mixing bowl, mix all ingredients well.
  2. Divide into 6-8 portions and roll and wrap in aluminum foil and seal on both ends.
  3. Steam or bake in oven until firm cooked.
  4.  Let cool and refrigerate.
  5. Serve chilled and sliced.
